The unique singer, guitarist and composer Shimshai from California is loved and appreciated by his international fan base for his very mystical mix of Sanskrit mantras, Reggae, South American Folk and many original Medicine songs.
He is a luminary and one of the first modern medicine music composer/musicians that already released his first album ‘I sense your presence’ in 2001 with world-known songs like ’Roots’. Together with Tina Malia he set a milestone in the music history of spiritual music with the album ‘Jaya Bhagvan’ in 2004 and now looks back at eight own studio albums.
His concerts are like ceremonies, in which Shimshai’s charisma and clear authentic voice create an intimate and heart-opening space for all participants which also can end up into dancing joyfully ecstasy.

About Shimshai
Born in Seattle, Shimshai was raised in a family of musicians between rural Washington State and the Seattle area. His father, a carpenter and builder of church pipe organs, started teaching him piano at age 5. His Mother, an elementary school teacher and folk singer taught him his first chords on guitar. Raised on the Beatles and classic folk of the 60’s & 70’s Shimshai explored many musical genres including the now classic Seattle sounds of the 90’s, and eventually settled on reggae music as his preferred mode of expression.
Influenced by the original Jamaican roots reggae movement and the teachings of the Ancient Essenes, Shimshai began recording his first album, ‘I Sense Your Presence’ on the Big Island of Hawaii in 2000 at the age of 19. He would continue to record 2 more albums in Hawaii, ‘Toward the One,’ and ‘Live on Maui’ before launching his perpetual world tour as a young traveler. Spending time in Europe and South America would continue to inspire and shape the eclectic blend of spiritual and multilingual music that Shimshai is known for. The solo acoustic album ‘Deliverance’ was recorded largely on site in sacred locations of Peru, from the Andes to the Amazon.
Shimshai became an underground west coast festival favorite by the mid 2000’s and traveled constantly with his band, mixing more of his older reggae material with newer folk and world music interpretations. Assimilating his world travels and interest in language and spirituality, Shimshai began working on ‘Alianza’ in Santa Cruz CA, the first of many recordings to be completed at his own recording studio. ‘Jaya Bhagavan,’ a collaboration with fellow artist Tina Malia, would showcase a passion for the sacred chants of India and result in creative friendships with artists such as Jai Uttal and Yair Dalal. Shimshai returned to more of his reggae roots with his live band on the 2012 release ‘True Heart’ and settled into his English based mystic folk with ‘Seer Prophet Son.’ Shimshai married his wife Susana in 2007 and have also released several albums and singles together, featuring medicinal and ceremonial music mostly in Spanish and Indigenous American languages. Aside from the music, Shimshai & Susana have become known for their nature based retreat programs and handcrafted herbal healing products, many of which are named after Shimshai’s songs. Currently residing between Northern CA and Southern OR with his wife and children, Shimshai continues to record and travel in addition to ongoing retreat programs and classes with Susana.
Shimshai has released 10 albums to date, and has been featured on a number of other artists’ projects. He has helped to produce and record albums for many other friends and artists in the spiritual / folk / medicine music genres. Shimshai has performed all over the world. He has been lucky enough to share the stage and collaborate with artists such as Jai Uttal, Wah!, Manose, Snatam Kaur, Ram Das, Bhagavan Das, Deepak Chopra, Joan Baez, Xavier Rudd, Michael Franti, Tina Malia, Jah Levi, Tito la Rosa, Alonso del Rio and many more.

Patricia Pattinama (Shabad Deep Kaur) is a singer and composer with a deep yearning to uncover the mysteries of sound. This made her to develop herself into a sound therapist, mantra teacher and a sacred song keeper. People often mention Angelic Voice when talking of her sound, referring to the soothing effect it has on the heart.
Growing up in a musical family Patricia was introduced to the path of sound early on in life, leading her to sing, perform and compose at a young age. Later on in life she took on in interest for the in-depth qualities of sound and began to study the science of sound in the Yogic, Esoteric and Indigenous traditions.
The path of sound is her journey of inner mastery. To Patricia music is a form of subtle communication and expression; to communicate, align and rebalance. She is on a deeply felt mission for peace and gentleness. Touching the hearts of people and seeing people get inspired to listen to their inner voice, lights her fire.
The name Shabad Deep Kaur was given to her on her journey of becoming a Kundalini yoga teacher. It means: the sound current that brings light. It is said wearing such a name, will empower one on their life’s mission. She is an Water woman by calling and heritage.
Patricia shares her work through Concerts and Sound Therapy sessions. She offers educational courses and workshops to share her knowledge and wisdom and leads awakening ceremonies with Cacao and Water. Patricia has just released her second album ‘Roots Rising’.
High Chai Tea House
High Chai Teahouse is a mobile teahouse that you will encounter at all our HeartFire concerts. Come home from your trip to the concert and get to meet old and new acquaintances in this dreamy Victorian ambiance. At the bar you can order the tastiest quality products from the Chai Angels.
The hand-brewed Chai Tea has grown famous, and you can only get it here. You will also find yogi tea, fresh mint, ginger and lemon tea. Not to mention all the sweet treats…. Both raw vegan and home-baked cakes, brownies and refreshing authentic drinks.
This bohemian atmosphere bar was designed by Ilona Dorgelo. The High Chai once started when Ilona made cake and chai for friends with a heartbreak. With the theater school and three-star restaurant De Librije as a background, this accidentally grew into a serious concept at our HeartFire concerts.

The Vondelkerk is located just outside of the Vondelpark in Amsterdam, so nearby parking is not easy and not advised. We advise you to come by public transport or use your bicycle. - Parking Centrum Oosterdok, just next to Amsterdam Central Station (take public transport from here to the venue). Parking is EUR 10,- (for one whole day) if you book early, online otherwise EUR 25,- (day ticket) if you reserve upfront, with no reservation maximum of EUR 37,50.
